Western Australia's Climate Regions

No matter where you are in Western Australia, we will endeavour to provide you with a high quality rainwater tank, so if you're in any of the regions listed below,  give us a call or fill out a contact form, and we'll get you in touch with your local installer.

Tropical Regions

Whilst a small part of the state, both in terms of size and population, Western Australia's Tropical Climate Region includes most towns north of Derby on the coastline and Kununurra inland, including towns such as Kalumburu.

Much of this region remains undeveloped, as the heavy rainfall and scorching heat makes it difficult to work in.

Subtropical Regions

Western Australia's subtropical region is smaller yet than the tropics, yet contains the vast majority of the state's population. Stretching from Kalbarri and Geraldton down to Mandurah in Perth's Southern reaches, and only inland about as far as Northam.

These areas experience warm and dry summers, but cooler winters with enough rainfall to make growing food and trees viable, and inland typically follows rivers that prevent these areas from being as dry and arid as their neighbouring grassland climates.

Desert Regions

Desert makes up most of the state, covering much of the Mid West, Goldfields and Pilbara regions, and typically only being populated by large mining towns or cattle stations. These areas are particularly dry, and persistently hot in the summer, often with biting cold winters, and include towns like Kalgoorlie, Laverton and Meekatharra.

Grassland Regions

The grassland regions of Western Australia lay mostly along the coastline, or the inland reaches of the south west. While not as wet as the subtropical regions, they're also not as arid or inhospitable as the desert areas.

These grassland areas include towns such as Broome, Exmouth, Newdegate and Lake Grace.

Temperate Regions

The temperate areas of Western Australia include the South West, and areas of the state which are renowned for their plentiful rainfall and beautiful scenery. These make up most of the state's holiday areas, as well as being the second most populous of these regions.

Western Australia's temperate climate region includes the area from Bunbury down to Albany, and along the coast to Esperance, with towns like Margaret River, Dunsborough, Pemberton and Denmark all within its boundaries.

Local Service with the Pioneer Dealer Direct® Network

There are numerous points of difference and benefits which set us apart from our competitors, but the single most valuable benefit to our customers is the outstanding local service and support you will receive from your local accredited Pioneer Dealer.

This means that no matter where you are based, we have a Pioneer Water Tank installer who knows your area, and the difficulties that might be involved in its particular climate, and can assist with any of your enquiries.

Our dealers are typically small business owners, working hard in their local communities to deliver an exceptional product with unmatched service to your door step.

Even Pioneer Water Tanks is still an Australian owned and operated business, unlike many of our main competitors, based out of Bellevue in Western Australia to this day.

Don't just take our word for it...

Would recommend

We recently purchased 3 GT250 tanks for 3 properties and were installed by Prices Steel & Fabrication in Williams WA. This brings our Pioneer tanks to 5 in total. Have had no problems with any installations. The stainless steel mesh leaf basket is a great addition. The overflow system works really well in a heavy downpour , coping with 1200m2 of shed catchment.

Very Easy Process

We recently had a Pioneer water tank installed at our property in Margaret River and I cannot recommend them more highly. Kristina and Luke were an absolute pleasure to deal with and were very accommodating with out changing installation date. The whole process was made very easy and enjoyable.

A Pioneer Poem

They are nice and shiny, big and round,
they stop the rain going on the ground
So I can water all my plants
And the wife can wash my dirty pants.
Mine went up quick and so far no leaks
Now we no longer have to bathe in the creek
I really like my Pioneer tank
All those others are a load of .....!
