Morawa Water Tanks

For over thirty years, Pioneer Water Tanks have been a highly regarded water tank supplier for Morawa and neighbouring areas, frequently attending field days and shows such as the Mingenew Midwest Expo.

Although many who live to the south of the Mid-West Region may hold the mindset that it is a sunny travellers paradise, with crayfish and sheep, and attractive beaches for sun and surf, those who reside in the area know it serves as an important hub for fishing and mining industries, in addition to being an expansive and plentiful rural area for grazing and crops.

Pioneer Water Tank owners in Morawa can rest easy in the knowledge they have the backing of Australia's number 1 big tank company.

Morawa is a town in the Mid West region of Western Australia. It is located within the Shire of Morawa, approximately 370 kilometres north of the state capital Perth, on the railway line between Wongan Hills and Mullewa.

The Morawa Climate

Morawa features a semi-arid grassland climate with hot dry summers and mild to cool, slightly wetter winters.

The town of Morawa and the area around it are particularly dry when compared to other towns in the Mid West, with only 285.9 of rainfall falling annually on average.

Morawa is primarily a farming town and the area supports a range of farming activities including wheat, sheep, cattle and sandalwood.

Morawa Water Storage Challenges

While many people across our dry country relish the sight of rainfall, changing weather conditions, and modern infrastructure have led to increasing cases of stormwater runoff and flash flooding.

The installation of a rainwater tank can be a great tool in assisting to prevent damaging water runoff, and support stormwater systems.

If we suppose the average roof in Mullewa is 200m2, then in the case of a weather event that drops 150mm of rainfall, like freak rains in early 2022, it would only need one hundred homes to have set up rainwater tanks to keep over 3 million litres of water from turning into stormwater runoff.

Bushfire Protection in the Australian Summer

Bushfire Preparation

With much of the Mid-West region being semi-arid and sparse, and experiencing long periods with low amounts of rainfall, it is prone to bushfires in the scorching, dry summer months, with shrubs dry and vulnerable to wildfires

An important way to prepare for the drier summer months is to ensure that you not only have a bushfire action plan, but also that you have adequate water storage to help yourself and emergency services in the event of bushfires.

A steel water tank can be used as both fire protection and water storage for the home, and Pioneer also offers a fire reserve option for your water tank if required.

The best performed water tank in bushfire conditions

When the Bushfire and National Hazards CRC in conjunction with the CSIRO performed bushfire simulations on a variety of water tanks, a steel Pioneer Water Tank held up best.

Notably, unlike the other tanks - which either melted or split - the Pioneer Water Tank continued to hold water even after a fire front, which could prove crucial to firefighting efforts.

While a water tank will still prove adequate for watering gardens or lawns, if it has been exposed to fire, it is highly recommended that you get the tank water tested as soon as possible to make sure that it is still safe for household use.

The Pioneer Water Tanks Difference

Aqualiner Fresh ® antimicrobial water tank liner

The Aqualiner Fresh ® water tank liner is a Pioneer Water Tanks exclusive, the only antimicrobial tank liner available on the market today, and is proven to prevent the growth of algae and bacteria in your water tank.

The Aqualiner Fresh ® utilises Sanitized ® technology, with the antibacterial properties of silver, interwoven into the water tank liner.

The industry-leading water tank liner is comprised of five layers that form the strongest, cleanest and most technically advanced water tank liner on the market.

Pioneer V-Lock ® tank wall profile

Designed for strength and for the sole purpose of water storage, the Pioneer V-Lock ® tank wall profile is also a Pioneer Water Tanks exclusive.

The V-Lock wall profile is designed to put the steel where it is needed most, for optimal strength and support, as well as to protect the tank liner, not just from external debris, but also against stretching or warping from the tank filling and emptying.

Don't just take our word for it; the design is so sound, it won an Australian Design Award for its strength and appearance.

Australian made water tanks - Morawa local service

Pioneer Water Tanks has the ability to provide truly local service to all Australians, no matter where they are based, thanks to the Pioneer Dealer Direct Network, comprised of more than 50 knowledgeable water tank dealers.

It is vital that Pioneer's water tank dealers and installers are experts in water tank construction, as a water tank is only as good as the person who builds it.

The Pioneer Dealer for the Mid-West, Huckleberry Water Tanks, are able to assist with all of your rainwater tank queries in Morawa, there to help you from the installation of your water tank and throughout its service life.

Morawa Historical Fact

The name Morawa is an Indigenous Australian name; it probably derives from the Morowar, the local dialect's word for the dalgite. The name was first used on maps of the area in 1910, in reference to a rock hole.

5.1 million tonnes of haematite iron ore was taken from the Koolanooka Hills mine between 1966 and 1974.

We also install water tanks in areas around Morawa. For Water Tanks Mingenew click here.
