Brisbane Water Tanks
At Pioneer, we've been providing high quality Brisbane water tanks for over 30 years, so we understand that Queenslanders need access to reliable and fresh water, particularly in the drier cooler months between May and October, where rainfall may not be reliable enough to meet your family’s water consumption needs. With almost 60% of Queensland affected by widespread drought in recent years, we don’t underestimate the importance of water harvesting and storage of clean water for as long as may be needed.
Whether you’re in the Far North, The Sprawling West, The Darling Downs, Wide Bay-Burnett or anywhere across Brisbane or The Sunshine Coast, Pioneer Water Tanks has the solutions for your commercial or residential rainwater harvesting needs.
Australian Water Tanks for Brisbane Conditions
Queensland isn’t called The Sunshine State for nothing, and we understand that you need a rainwater tank that is up to the job of withstanding the sometimes unforgiving Queensland weather.
All Pioneer Water Tanks are built with genuine Australian steel, and all of our rainwater tanks come with a 20 year warranty. This is because we have faith in our patented and unique 8-80 V-LOCK® wall profile, which is built up to 2mm thick, and our AQUALINER Fresh® Water Tank Liner to keep your water fresher for longer.
Our water tanks aren’t just made from genuine Australian BlueScope Steel, all of our tank wall panels, roof trusses, truss foots, roof sheets, access hatches, hook on ladders, and tank liners are made right here in Australia.
Queensland Water Storage's Unique Challenges
Mosquitos and Insects
With wet and warm summers, and drier cooler winters, Queensland is faced with unique challenges when it comes to water storage. One of these is protection against mosquitos and insects, which can spread dangerous viruses, and contaminate water sources. On the spot fines of up to $225 can be handed out for not keeping your rainwater tank mosquito proof.
To reduce the risk of mosquito contamination in Queensland, any inlets and overflows must be fitted with aluminium, copper, brass, or stainless steel insect-proof screens, with a mesh of 1mm or less, and all access points should be kept shut with close fitting lids that will prevent insect access to your water supply. It is also important to maintain, and if possible, screen any gutters that flow into the water supply, as water ponding in gutters can also present a risk of contamination.
In addition to sufficiently screening your water tank, Pioneer Water Tanks offer the Super Seal as an optional extra for your water tank, to reduce the amount of dust, insects or frogs potentially contaminating or breeding in or around your water supply.
Brisbane - When it Rains it Pours
Queensland’s weather can be unforgiving, with rainfall sometimes all coming at once, causing localised flooding, and overflow of water supply.
Excessive water tank overflow can cause costly and long term problems with your water tank, and to combat this, at Pioneer Water Tanks we have developed a 150mm diameter overflow, which not only ensures any excess water can escape your tank safely, but also prevents water from coming into contact with the steel around the overflow, eliminating the need for any sealants that can potentially contaminate your water supply.
Legionella and Legionnaire’s Disease
Recently in Queensland Legionella has become a large cause of pneumonia outbreaks in the warmer months, and can be caused by elevated water temperature, and high amounts of sediment or organic content in water tanks, if they are not correctly maintained.
With our industry leading antimicrobial filter and local experts to assist you with the ongoing maintenance of your water tank, correctly managing and installing your water tank can greatly reduce or even eliminate the risk of Legionnaire’s Disease from developing in your water supply.
It is also important to check your tank for sediments every 2-3 years and desludge if required. Your local Pioneer Water Tank Dealer will offer tank cleaning and desludging services. Installing and maintaining a first flush diverter will also help ensure the freshness and quality of your water. Your first flush device should be checked and cleaned every three months.
Our Wide Range of Water Tanks
Do you need a large water tank for agricultural purposes, or just enough to provide clean, fresh water for your family? Do you want your water tank to be the perfect colour to match your COLORBOND® roof, or is a good old fashioned silver ZINCALUME® water tank more your cup of tea?
Well the good news is that our tanks not only come in a variety of colours, but are all made from genuine Australian Steel, and with a capacity of anywhere upward of 12 000 litres; no matter your water storage needs, Pioneer Water Tanks has the answer.
Brisbsane and Queensland Dealer Network
No matter whether you hail from Thargomindah or Brisbane, Mt Isa or Trinity Beach; we make delivery and installation of your rainwater tank easy, with local experts Australia wide.
We have over 50 distributors across Australia, allowing us to support small family businesses, who will in turn support you throughout your water tank delivery, installation and continued service life.
Queensland Council Water Storage Requirements
Although previous water savings targets are no longer state-wide, in some councils, such as Toowoomba and Pimpama-Coomera, all new detached homes must be built with a minimum 5000 litre rainwater or water storage tank, in order to meet legislative requirements. Any Brisbane and Queensland property owners can voluntarily install a water tank or supplementary water supply system so long as they meet appropriate health and safety standards.
All Pioneer Water Tanks come with the highest quality antimicrobial water tank liner available on the market today, and are built to exceed any requirements for products to come in to contact with drinking water.
