Craig and his wife Julie have just started their first house build in Brocklesby, New South Wales. Craig was jumping at the seams to get this project started and he was thinking about all the moving parts from day dot.
Sustainability was at the top of his mind when designing the property. Situated on 5 acres of land, the couple’s goals are to manage a small hobby farm with two highland cattle, a few dorper sheep and an orchard.
“Just enough to keep me out of trouble!” laughs Craig.

"They couldn’t do enough for you. We had solar panels come through around the same time and I changed my mind on a few things about the colour of the tank – and everything was a breeze. They changed the quote and nothing was a drama."
Two features the couple desired included solar panels and water storage – they didn’t want to cart down water from council as it incurs extra costs.
“I’ve always liked Pioneer Water Tanks – I always see them around and now we are proud owners of a quality rainwater tank.
“I’ve never heard a bad word about them and their quality. I’ve always had my heart set on them, so when I decided to build a house I knew who I was going with for rainwater storage.”
Craig says his experience with Pioneer Water Tanks was fantastic.
“They couldn’t do enough for you. We had solar panels come through around the same time and I changed my mind on a few things about the colour of the tank – and everything was a breeze. They changed the quote and nothing was a drama.”
Craig and Julie settled on a GT110 (110,000L), and the couple are still getting used to how large the tank actually is.
“Every day I’m hopping up to see if there’s more rainwater in there – you don’t realise how astronomical 110,000L is until it’s put in front of you!”
“I honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Janelle is a gem on the phone to deal with”
“Everything we asked to add she just threw on the quote and it was done instantly. Nothing was missed.
“The tank was installed in a single day. I was away for work, and when I came to the property everything was left spotless.
“They did not leave anything at all. I was expecting some tin or leftover rubbish, but there was nothing. You wouldn’t have even known they were there – it was phenomenal.
“I’ve told everyone at work about them, both Pioneer and Border Tanks, and I couldn’t be happier. I just can’t wait to use the tank!”
Craig and Julie will be connecting this tank to the four-bedroom dwelling of the house as well as a 17m shed for ultimate rain catchment abilities.
“It costs you up front, but the money you save over the years is phenomenal. You’ve got it for life.”
